One of the most important habits to form when we are working to develop our 'Mind Power' is to employ the habit of "spaced repetition".
When I was first studying the power of the mind, I worked for a year for a company called "Success Motivation Institute" which was founded by Paul J. Meyer. He was an amazingly successful businessman and entrepreneur and philanthropist. You can read more about him here.
While working for his company, I studied his books and courses and the information completely changed my life. In fact, much of the information you have been receiving from me is information I learned from Paul J Meyer.
He was one of the original founders of the "self-help" or "personal growth" industry. He wrote books, created tape recorded programs and was one of the founders of learning to change your brain by changing your thinking.
One of his key principles is the principle of "Spaced Repetiton", which is the key to using the power of neuroplasticity.
When we simply repeat an affirmation over and over and over again........ it has the effect of sinking down into the subconscious mind where it begins to work for us automatically under the surface.
At that point, everything shifts. It now begins to affect our brain, making new neural connections. We begin to feel different and to notice different things in the world. Our perception actually changes. We see different things from what we saw before. Our world shifts.
You have heard the expression, "Love is blind." When someone is in love, they litterally see people differently, especially the one(s) they love. Parents love their children. Therefore they see them differently from the way other people do. When they look at their partners, they literally see a different person than you or I might see.
But not only love is blind. Other emotions change our perception too. Anger changes the way we see our life as well. When we are angry, we see people as enemies. When we are depressed, we see obstacles the size of molehills as though they were mountains.
When we are happy, we see rainbows instead of rain clouds.
One of the easiest ways to use the power of 'spaced repetition' is to use objects to remind ourselves of what is important in our lives.
We place photos of our loved ones on our desks to remind us that we are loved.
We put holiday photos on our walls to remind ourselves of great times we have experienced.
We hang good luck charms or religious mementoes on the rear-view mirrors of our cars to remind us of good thougts we want to remember.
We often drink coffee from our favorite mug because it reminds us of a special event or a special person.
This is why I have recently created an online store with some products containing slogans and affirmations from by book, "Mind, Time and Power!".
So far I have designed T-shirts and coffee mugs and I have placed a digital version of my book there.
Having a coffee mug with an affirmation or a positive thought written on it is a perfect way to remind yourself that you are a student of 'mind power'. You remind yourself that your thoughts are powerful; that your power is only one thought away; that by controlling your attitude you control how the events of your life affect you.
One of my favorite expressions is "You can't control the wind, but you can learn to sail."
You can see a mug with that expression written on it here.
As you can see, I have been keeping busy during this pandemic. I have been keeping my mind positive and have been busy writing. I have two new books coming out soon, but that's a topic for another time.
When you buy one, email me a copy of your receipt and I will send you a special gift.
In the meantime, keep using the 'magic of spaced repetition' to keep your mind strong and keep your life on the right path.
Sincerely,
Anthony
